Whisked off to the beautiful island of Corfu to plan her sister Lacey’s big, fat, Greek wedding, Ellen is hoping some time out will help clear her head and heal her heart. But letting go of her past is not going to be easy.

With Lacey in full on Bridezilla mode, Ellen is soon distracted from her own problems. And when the all-inclusive treats on offer at hotel Blue Vue include one gorgeous, brooding Adonis – Yan – Ellen finds him difficult to resist.

But Ellen isn’t looking for love or lust, or anything involving too much ouzo…or is she?

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of Truly Madly Greekly for review.

What can I say about Truly Madly Greekly except that it is a fabulous summer read!

Ellen is a sensible, practical, uptight, career woman, the very opposite of her flighty younger sister, Lacey.  After being unceremoniously dumped by her fiancĂ© Ross, Ellen escapes to the Blue Vue Hotel in Corfu with her sister in order to plan her sister's wedding at the resort. When they arrive, Lacey is immediately distracted by the exotic Greek resort entertainer/gigolo, Sergei, whilst Ellen finds herself at loggerheads with the sexy Bulgarian, Yan. Yan teaches Ellen how to unwind and enjoy her time off work, whilst Ellen teaches Yan that he should reach for his dreams. Their antagonistic relationship soon develops into friendship and possibly something deeper.

The characters were well written and realistic. The resort animation team were exactly as I've experienced during my Greek holidays - friendly, flirty and annoyingly persistent when it comes to joining in with activities. Ellen and Lacey, whilst sisters, are at opposite ends of the scale. They are both slightly-exaggerated versions of many people I would meet in everyday life. I particularly liked the relentless cougar, Monica, and transvestite, Dasha, who both provided some great moments of humour within the story.

The setting is, obviously, fabulous. Any reader who has visited Greece would be able to imagine the beautiful lush resort setting, sandy beaches, unparalleled sunshine and bright blue water.

The plot is well planned and intelligent. The author keeps us guessing as to how things would pan out for the different characters and I was on tenterhooks through out to find out how the story would end.

Truly Madly Greekly is the perfect mix of entertainment, humour, romance, sunshine, sand and cocktails! It will have you running to the travel agents to book your next holiday. A perfect summery read.
