If Carlsberg did spa's, they would look like this - A man's version of a day spa!

Do you know any men who really like spa days? Mr GC has accompanied me to one or two spa visits but, by his own admission, he doesn't really "see the point". For our first weekend break together, he took me to Bath where we visited the ThermaSpa. He enjoyed the steam rooms but otherwise wasn't overly fussed about the different pools and treatments. He also agreed to a full body massage whilst on holiday in Crete. This started well until they started pulling his toes. He actually escaped from the salon on that occasion! Whilst I found it hilarious, it doesn't exactly bode well for future spa days with the hubby!!

I was therefore surprised yesterday to receive an email from Mr GC asking for another spa day. I was somewhat confused until I opened his email to find the following attached:-

Yes, he's found a 'beer spa' in Pivni Lazne, near Prague in the Czech Republic!
The Pivni Lazne Spa Beerland offers a Beer Spa and a Spa Beer Land, both described as relaxation rooms "with an original spa procedure based on the exclusive use of natural ingredients, materials and classic Czech medical treatments".
According to the website the Beer Spa procedure consists of:
  • beer spa
  • unlimited consumption of light and dark Krušovice ® beer
  • relaxation in a genuine wheat straw bed by a warm fireplace
  • consumption of home-made beer bread
The website advises that you bathe in whirlpool oak tubs filled with the natural extracts used to brew Czech Krušovice® beer, including hops, brewer's yeast and malt. The oil in the hops opens the pores and the vitamin B and active enzymes in the yeast are beneficial for skin regeneration. The combination of ingredients and the oak tub is said to "stimulate metabolism, help remove harmful substances from the body and ease fatigue and stress, thus resulting in ideal mental and physical relaxation" .
I must admit that whilst several hours spent in a hot, steamy room sounds delightful, I would much prefer the smell of lavender and eucalyptus over the scent of beer and hops! However, I do love a spa day so I'd probably be willing to give it a go if I could stand the smell for that long... particularly if it involved a weekend away in Prague.
I'm interested to hear what you think of this. If your man asked you to go to a beer spa with him, would you agree?
